What is DC-MAPS?

DC-MAPS (DC Men of Asia Prevention Study) is a National Institutes of Health study about health and culture among the gay, bisexual and MSM (men who have sex with men) Asian and South Asian men’s community in the metro Washington DC area.

The study consists of a confidential, computer survey in English, as well as follow up interviews with selected participants. Participants will receive $40 cash for taking the survey, and additional cash for completing the follow-up interview.

We began collecting data in March 2005 and hope to continue collecting information from at least 600 Asian gay, bisexual and MSM men by May 2008, especially those of Chinese, Filipino, South Asian and/or Vietnamese background.

Your support will go a long way to helping improve the health and well-being of the gay/bisexual/MSM Asian and South Asian community in the metro DC area.
